TILLAMOOK ANIMAL SHELTER NEWS
Tillamook, Oregon
December 8, 2009
The Tillamook Animal Shelter in conjunction with Oregon Humane Investigators and the Tillamook County Sheriff's office seized 118 dogs from an overwhelmed resident in Tillamook County.
"The dogs were living in terribly overcrowded and unsanitary conditions with limited access to food and
water," said Dr. Kris Otteman, OHS medical director.

The owner was charged with animal neglect by OHS Humane Investigators and
relinquished ownership of the dogs to OHS. |
| TAS and OHS working in concert with Tillamook County’s Sheriff, responded to years of complaints about the
residence. When the owner made the decision to surrender the animals today, the Tillamook Animal Shelter,
Tillamook Sheriff's office and Tillamook Animal Control department provided vehicles and staff to transport
the animals to Portland and assist with their processing. |

 |
98 of the dogs were transferred to OHS with 20 remaining here in Tillamook. The dogs are available for
adoption through the animal shelter. Contact Sherry at 503-812-7894 for an
application or visit our adoption page for
more information.
The Tillamook Animal Shelter could also use donations of food, blankets, money or gas cards as the ongoing cost of caring for and
transporting these dogs is going to add up fast.
